They only deserve 2 stars because there is a working installation in the end. Unfortunately, things go wrong for them at almost every step of the process.
The review is very long.
That actually tells you enough.
During the salesman's visit everything seemed OK, otherwise we would not have started with them. Nice promises about the installation, enough time to get the 2023 premiums, choice of slightly more expensive material because of the better guarantees and lifespan,... on paper it was nice.
They are actually two installations for two different apartments that are placed next to each other on one roof.
Day 1 of installation:
Work crew 1 arrives.
Climbs around on the roof, looks for what they need, ...
Ask me where the conduit for the cable is located.
I show it to them.
They don't believe me and still start looking in the attic in other places, digging around in my insulation...
Apparently they only believe that my waiting tube is actually my waiting tube when their more experienced colleague(?) agrees with me by telephone?
OK waiting tube found, now I don't think anything can go wrong.
10 minutes later I see one of them pull the iron pulling wire out of the guard tube. That suddenly goes very smoothly! Good job guys!
2 hours later they come and tell me that they can't get the cable through the conduit and they will have to drill a hole through the outside wall to get that cable in.
They didn't really realize that they had caused the problem themselves by removing the pulling wire.
Fortunately, in the end there was no hole in the wall, just 2 hours of fiddling around with soap, a cable and a waiting tube, and an extra day was needed for the installation.
(plus point: Those men persevered for 2 hours and they finally succeeded.)
Day 2 of installation:
Everything is there.
connections and cables inside: OK
solar panels and frame on the roof: OK
500 cut-up plastic zipties on the roof: not requested, but they were there anyway.
Fantastic: now we're done, right? No.
Nope, apparently another team has to come by.
Friendly duo is at my door.
They seem to be staring at the new cabinets on my wall like it's some magic spell they've never seen before. Those lights, so mysterious. But with the help of a colleague on the phone, they still manage to do what they had to do.
Then they climb up and down the roof and up and down and up and down.
After the umpteenth time and more than an hour, I'm still curious.
There are two cables on the roof that enter the building, and they only find one from the inside.
Solarnova has installed two installations here itself.
Does the fault here lie in the communication with this team?
Or should these men have easily seen that my neighbor's cable only enters the building along the outer facade several floors below?
Yes.
Have we finally been able to continue working after this? Yes
Have we gotten the software working? Yes
Have we seen that some panels were not connected correctly by the previous team? Yes
Did these two men then have to disconnect all the cables on the roof again and connect them correctly? Yes.
These two were super friendly, but didn't really seem ready to go to a job site alone.
All's well that ends well, all right?
Not from the misery and not from this review….
Our installations that would certainly be successful in 2023.
They received a nice bonus: €900 in premiums.
Nice amount anyway.
Solarnova misses the deadline.
Solarnova sends me an email in advance with the promise to make up the difference via a credit note.
(part removed to make room for the edit)
The false promises to call back from their manager, no answers to questions about warranty, you will have to experience that yourself if you do business with them.
EDIT:
I did receive the promised bonus.
Less than 24 hours after writing this review, this was resolved.
I have also received the information about warranties
+1 star for that
